A little bit of a slow down on the fifth stage

The queen stage was comparatively gracious, but it was not designed for resting. Yesterday followed a stage on which it was possible to take a breath here and there.

Yesterday's route from Pellizzano to Molveno with its 78 kilometres and 2,400 metres of altitude difference was still a decent BIKE Transalp stage, but there were a few places, especially in the middle section between Tuenno and Sporminore, where those participants who had lost a lot of energy in the previous days were allowed to take a deep breath.

"In between, it was a bit more relaxed today, but the mosquito plague at the end was a bit annoying," laughs Christina Baganz, who is riding this year's MAXXIS BIKE Transalp together with her daughter. A reason to really step on the gas before the finish.

Today it's from Molveno to Roncone. With 69 kilometres and 2,160 metres of altitude, it seems to be even more merciful. Let's see how the participants will describe the penultimate stage in a few hours.
