Mayrhofen

Mayrhofen

One region, two mountains, 1,000 possibilities

Mayrhofen-Hippach offers mountains of emotions in the snow

The winter season starts in style with the „RISE&FALL“ event – a relay race of extreme sports featuring teams of four competing in legs of ski touring, paragliding, mountain biking and skiing/snowboarding.

This action-packed event is just the start of a winter season which is guaranteed to be filled with emotions. Emotions are always present during the winter in Mayrhofen-Hippach and they are what make a ski holiday the perfect experience. Our guests can choose their experience themselves. The holiday region is romantic, laidback and down to earth yet at the same time stylish and ultra-sporty.

Well away from the noise an commercialism, guests to Advent in Mayrhofen will discover the true spirit of Christmas, experience wonderful customs and enjoy the special anticipation of Christmas Eve.

The two skiing mountains - the Ahorn and the Penken – will satisfy every skier or snowboarder. With the Ahornbahn, Austria’s largest cable car, you are transported in just minutes to the Ahorn mountain with wide, gentle pistes and the White Lounge igloo village at 2,000m where you can relax and enjoy stunning panoramic views. The diversity of Mayrhofen becomes evident when you move from the leisure mountain Ahorn to the action mountain Penken where a serious challenge awaits you: The Harakiri is the steepest piste in Austria and a legend in itself. The 78% gradient is just begging to be conquered! The best way to appreciate the Mayrhofen ski area in all its glory including the highlights and insider tips is to follow the suggested ski circuits. The Family circuit starting at the top of the Ahornbahn cable car is a gentle, relaxed route and the Beginner circuit also follows the easier pistes. Much more demanding is the XXL circuit which encompasses the Horberg, Penken, Rastkogel and Eggalm – a full ski safari on mostly red pistes. Those who really want to blow off steam should follow the Altitude-Devourer circuit with more than 13,000 altitude metres of red and black pistes – you are even awarded a certificate at the end. For those who still want more, the Action and Fun circuit will take you to all of the race tracks, down the Harakiri and to the Vans Penken Park.
